A few of my favorite thoughts

Often as B gazes into the face of A she sees vividly the faces of baby's ancestors reflected there - not just herself and S (A's parents), but also grandparents and great grandparents expressions and beyond that something in the twinkle or depths of the eyes. It makes her wonder if the subconscious urge to bring another being to life is simply that urge to live on, but stranger still that in some peculiar way, you do exist on Earth in that being after you are gone, as do the ancestors of yours, those you've met and those you've never known breathe again through you. It does seem to decry the myth of individualism to be all of these other beings in perpetuity, but then again as many spiritual practices believe, perhaps more evidence that we are all just one being.

For nap time B dusted off Bruce Lee's the Tao of Jeet Kun Do from the shelf to read to baby. The first poem is brilliant. They read three pages and A fell asleep. Interestingly, that's about as far B got the first time she began reading it, despite loving it and Bruce Lee being a big hero. It may be because of the tension between thinking to read and the books initial suggestion that to master the martial art you must clear your mind of thoughts. Since it puts both mama and baby straight to sleep, it's considered primo bedside reading. If things hold, at this rate, it might be finished by 2015.

Finally, fussing and all, it just seems so obvious now to B that baby A is absolutely 100% perfect just as she is. That simple fact proves a reminder of the yogic concept of santosha or contentment in the current state, and how often we are and where we are is simply perfect and we just forget to realize it.
